Warehouse fire causes commuter chaos

A warehouse fire at Wastecare, a packaging recycler in Garforth, was attended to by 150 firemen causing chaos and frustrations to thousands of local commuters. Major environmental concerns were also raised due to the quantity of water run-off from the blaze as the fire brigade attempted to control the inferno as it threatened local houses. The same company experienced a £1m loss due to another fire in Widnes in November of last year. Neither of the sites were fitted with fire sprinkler systems. Fire Security recently installed a sprinkler system on behalf of one of the waste recycling industry’s market leaders.
