Fire at Lowestoft food factory

Around 100 fire fighters from all over Suffolk have been attending to a fire at the UK’s largest frozen foods packaging factory.  The fire threatened many local businesses including petrol stations and supermarkets.

Firefighter Gary Phillips, assistant chief fire officer, said “It is probably the biggest fire in Suffolk for some time and it is one of the most difficult we have had to fight for some time. It is very difficult and very hazardous; the firefighters are working magnificently.”
